HIGH LIFE 41 虽 然今年只有28岁,但在其从事 艺术创作的短短六年间,澳门 艺术家霍凯盛(Eric Fok)早已形成 自己独特而鲜明的艺术风格:复古体 中谈现代,精致画中含磅礴。 复古是指他的画作通常以十六、 十七世纪大航海时期的古欧洲地图风 貌展现,所使用的纸张也特地染色作 旧,但表现的内容则通常是在反映艺 术家对于当下所身处的社会环境、城 市发展及社会问题所做的缜密观察与 思考。 T hough only 28 years old, local Macau artist Eric Fok has managed to establish his own unique, distinctive style in the six shortyears he has focusedonartistic creation – adopting retro imagery to showcase modern problems and envisaging a whole new universe in his delicate paintings. Eric has incorporated the style of ancient western maps from the 16th and 17th centuries using drawing paper dyed to look old to express his own observations on current social problems, Eric 的画大多小而精致,面积 不大,但擅长使用密密麻麻的针笔线 条、配合自己的想象力、幻想及对世 界历史、古代地图、神话传说、地理 书籍的钻研,一点一点用笔尖雕琢出 一个令人充满无限想象空间的魔幻现 实主义世界。 霍凯盛毕业于澳门理工学院视觉 艺术系,目前在澳门、台北两地工作 及生活。2012年,还是学生的他开 始尝试用古地图风格作画,并自此发 展出《乐园》系列等广受好评的作品, 其中《乐园十一号》和《十六号》更 曾入选堪称插画届奥斯卡的“波隆那 插画展”。 2016年他出版了首部作品集《乐 园:当古地图遇上现代城市》,精选 了其从事创作以来的近六十幅作品, 并于同年在凯伦韦伯画廊举办联合展 览,反响强烈。受画廊盛情邀约, Eric 于去年香港艺术周期间举办了自 己首次香港个展《远东志》。 在这个展览中,Eric 创造了名为 《2047年》的全新系列作品,用笔 developments and changes to the city around him. His drawings are small in size but distinctly elegant. Using needle lines, he delves into his own imagination and fantasies and combines it with his knowledge of history alongside careful observation of cityscapes to depict a world full of magical realism. Born in 1990, Fok studied at Macao Polytechnic Institute where in 2012 he started experimentally painting in his ancient map style. He subsequently developed his acclaimed Paradise series, among which Paradise No 11 and Paradise No 16 were selected for the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition, known as the “Oscars for Illustrators.” In 2016 Fok published his first book, Paradise: When Antique Maps Meet Modern Cities , featuring 60 selected pieces from over 200 works in his Paradise series. That same year he held a joint exhibition in Hong Kong. 12 months later, he has been invited back by the Karin Weber Gallery to debut his solo exhibition Far East Chronicle as part of Hong KongArtweek.
