品 12 #12 2017 年 9 月 From the editor Time will tell I t has been one year since we started to create the first issue of High Life , a unique magazine that showcases the best of Macau, involving events, products and people who make up the diverse fabric of our harmonious society. After 12 months, we are immensely proud of the quality of themagazine as it has grown from a lesser known publication to a widely distributed “must-read” itemwith enthusiastic fans fromaround theworld who appreciate the artistic and well-thought-out content that we present month after month. Throughout this time, our teamhas expanded andwe have welcomed new, talented individuals to the family. Theynot only contribute greatly to the success of High Life , but also share the responsibilities and challenges that present themselves along the way. In pursuit of perfection, nothing comes easily, but we are fortunate to have members of the editorial team who live and breathe the identity of the brand, which considers excel- lence, integrity and originality as non-negotiable elements that define the nature of human existence. As my favorite Roman orator Marcus Tullius Cicero once said, “History is thewitness that testifies to the passing of time; it illumines reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in dai- ly life and brings us tidings of antiquity.” A year ago we rolled up our sleeves to humbly embark on a journey of creation. To now, not a day goes by that I do not learn something new and apply it to further my endeavors. As a team, our confidence radiates from the fact that we reflect within ourselves, analyze mistakes, gather knowledge and will only get better inwhateverwe do in the future. Time passes, yet our sprit becomes mightier than ever.
