And although craftsmanship forms the foundation of most luxury brands, few offer customers the opportunity to truly experience each product’s creation like D’AUCHEL. After years spent observing brands trade off exclusive handcrafted quality, D’AUCHEL founder Olivier Dauchez set out to create his own brand, bringing to Asia the traditional art of French handbag-making as perfected for centuries in the boutiques of Paris. Walk into the company’s flagship store – located in a Hong Kong office tower on Lyndhurst Terrace in Central – and you immediately come face to facewith two master craftsmen busily creating their masterpieces in a workshop next to the showroom. The lavish smell of new leather fills the air. “None of our competitors have aworkshop and boutique together or make their products completely by hand in- house,” Mr Dauchez says proudly.
