Determined tostepoutside thesquare, theself-confessed history geeks and vintage enthusiasts have launched Macau Vintage Market – an innovative clothing store based around the concept of “re-love, reuse, recycle.” “I started testing the market by opening an online store that sold vintage and second-hand clothing and through that we were able to find a reasonable number of customers,” explains Elva when asked about the formative days of the business. As customers grew and relationships solidified, what began as a casual hobby evolved into an actual store. Nestled in downtown Macau along Rua de São Roque, the quiet street with its colonial Portuguese architecture provides the perfect backdrop for this homage to retro ‘60s and ‘70s fashion – complete with a bright yellow doorway to guide the way.
