HIGH LIFE #14 Nov 2017 91 W hen it comes indulgent luxury, the Ritz-Carlton has earned a reputation as a global leader in guest experience – so it comes as no surprise to find one of Macau’s most opulent spas within its confines. ESPA, located on the third floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Macau, offers a tranquil haven a world away from the endless bustle of nearby Cotai. Renowned for its discreet, personalized service, guests can relax in one of 10 lush treatment rooms or, should the mood take you, bring your partner along to one of three couples’ suites and wash away your worries together. The design of ESPA is one of its defining characteristics. Incorporating elements from traditional Chinese and Portuguese architecture to reflect the unique cultural heritage ofMacau, it showcases natural materials including dark timber, solid oak and inky onyx along with specialty lighting to provide the perfect backdrop to an afternoon or evening of indulgence. Little wonder it was awarded “Best Hotel Spa of the Year” at the SpaChina Awards this year. High Life opted for theMankind treatment upon ourvisit to ESPA, the two-hour indulgence designed specifically for the needs of the hard-working man. Split into two 60-minute segments, our experience begins with our personalized therapist providing a divine foot scrub and massage after which we are offered a range of scents to choose from for the ensuing massage. As both a spa and a globally recognized skincare brand, ESPA is unique in its ability to provide the very best oils, creams and lotions to lift, relax and revive. We choose our favorites before making our way over to the massage table where a deep tissue massage diverts our stresses to another world.
