品 98 #14 2017 年 11 月 应 十月在珠海举办的北山国际爵士音乐节之邀，世界知名 的加拿大作曲家及钢琴家 David Braid 携手「生而为 蓝」爵士乐四重奏重返这个于南中国已举办七年的音乐盛事。 四重奏中更包括知名小号手 Kevin Turcotte 及鼓手 Terry Clarke。 早先这个爵士乐四重奏已凭借其对爵士电影《生而为 蓝》配乐的精彩演绎而广受好评。《生而为蓝》于2015年上 映，由 Ethan Hawke 主演，回溯了美国传奇爵士天才 Chet Baker 一段颇为特别的人生。 这部电影的编曲、配乐及制作皆由 David Braid 完成。 Braid 被其家乡加拿大媒体盛誉为「我们自己的爵士天才」。 早已多次获得过加拿大 Juno 奖的他，亦凭藉此次电影配乐再 度囊获多个音乐奖项。 I nvited to perform at the Beishan International Jazz Festival in Zhuhai in October, world-renowned Canadian composer and pianist David Braid joined the seven-year-old event in southern China for the second time together with his Born to be Blue Quartet, featuring award-winning trumpeter Kevin Turcotte and drummer Terry Clarke. The jazz quartet has received widespread praise for its musical performance in the jazz film Born to Be Blue . Starring Ethan Hawke as Chet Baker, the 2015 film retraces the lifetime of the jazz legend. The film’s soundtrack was arranged, composed and produced by Braid. Dubbed “a jazz genius to call our own” by his hometown Canadian media, this Juno award-winning artist has reaped many top accolades for the score of this film.
