The new Altiplano Ultimate Concept Watch, designed by Research and Innovation of Piaget, aims for the ultimate in slimness – just 2mm in case thickness – making it the world’s thinnest hand-wound watch. In a world that records size in tenths of millimeters, Piaget’s “stubbornness” in making the ultra-thinwatch has once again set off a revolution. The watch adopts a “two in one” structure, eliminating the line between the internal movement and the external case. The redesigned regulating organ, uniquely constructed barrel, flat “telescopic” crown, sapphire crystal with a thickness reduced to 0.2mm and the use of cobalt-based high-tech alloy all contribute to achieving the overall thinness.
