HIGH LIFE 91 Though only about 25 of his paintings remain today, Bosch’s unique creativity and imagination significantly influenced the work of Salvador Dalí and the entire Surrealist movement, as well as that of Doors vocalist Jim Morrison and the psychedelic rock genre. The circus show Bosch Dreams was originally a commission by The Jheronimus Bosch 500 Foundation to The 7 Fingers founder Tétreault, who is also the script writer and artistic director of the show. “When they contacted me to write and create the show to celebrate five centuries of Hieronymus Bosch’s life, in addition to just having the audience enjoy the performance, I felt like I needed to share a bit of knowledge about this great painter as well,” Tétreault explains. “My choicewas to not only evoke thework of the Bosch Dreams show, but to present it very literarily, so I chose to present his artworks as video animation.” The result is a unique and memorable collaboration between Tétreault and Ange Potier, who created of all the show’s video animation within three months of Tétreault’s finishing the script.
