At this year’s SIHHwatch show in Geneva, Vacheron Constantin launched five hot air balloon themedwatches, representing the five exciting hot air balloon flights completed in France between 1783 and 1785. The hot air balloon flight in Paris in 1784, as presented by this watch, is equipped with a system that can control the orbit of hot air balloons designed by Blanchard, the pioneer of the hot air balloon flight. On the dial you can clearly see this ingenious “wings” device. The exquisite hand-carved and bas-relief engraved hot air balloon is suspended above the translucent skeleton enamel background. The watch adopts no pointer time display, showing hours, minutes, day of the week and date.
