High Life Issue #5

HIGH LIFE #5 February 2017 79 T he first thing guests will notice about the Spa atWynn Palace is its grandiose entrance. Unlike most spas, this one has a modern, almostmasculine feel to it. Beautifulwoodpanelling contrasts with beige carpeting and dim lighting. Oncewe arrive at the Grand Court, a solid brass Foucault pendulumsuspended in the air captures our attention. Its rhythmic swaying signals a change of pace as we enter a more tranquil world. As we walk through the elegant corridor surrounded by traditional Chinese lions in Carrara marble and enter our suite, we immediately relax. Along the way we take in the magnificent hand-painted, sepia-toned wall-covering mural that runs the length of the promenade, depicting a scene of life around a Chinese Palace and the surrounding waterways. The welcome drink is a signature tea, a blend of rose and osmanthus, deliciously aromatic and a perfect match for the treatment to follow. Before the 90-minute massage can start, we relish in the amenities provided in the Spa’s private suite. An elegant, mother-of-pearl cabinet holds a mini fridge with healthy snacks and drinks. Over to the left a precious wood cabinet is any lady’s dream come true. Skin-care products from the Spanish luxury beauty brand Natura Bissé are available to care for the skin and a variety of other toiletries are on offer too, anticipating your every need.
