HIGH LIFE #5 February 2017 99 T he Longines Hong Kong International Races provided another spectacular conclusion to the 2016 racing season, showcasing some of the world’s finest race horses and jockeys in front of a captivated crowd. The seasonfinale featured four international Group 1 races, with jockey Joao Moreira riding Satono Crown to victory in the Longines Hong KongVase, RyanMoore onMaurice claiming the prestigious Longines Hong Kong Cup and Zac Purton enjoying a rare double by winning both the Longines Hong Kong Sprint and the Longines Hong Kong Mile aboard Aerovelocity and Beauty Only respectively. As the Title Partner and Official Timekeeper of the event, Longines presented the winning owners, trainers and jockeys with elegant Longines timepieces. For the third consecutive year, Longines also organized its much-anticipated Longines Prize for Elegance, rewarding the ladywith the most stylish look on the day. The Swiss watch brand had earlier in the day officially inaugurated its newest boutique at Hollywood Plaza, raising its current total number of boutiques in Hong Kong to 17. Walter von Känel, Longines President, Kevin Rollenhagen, Managing Director of Swatch Group Hong Kong Limited, Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice President and Head of International Marketing and Karen Au Yeung, Vice President of Longines Hong Kong took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. TheLonginesHongKong International Races sawLongines highlight a new ladies' model from The Equestrian Collection in its exhibition booth located at Sha Tin racecourse. This timepiece belongs to a collection designed as an allegory of the equestrian world and is dedicated to female equestrian sports lovers. It inspired by the rectangular buckle on the show bridle of the only Swiss horse breed, the Franches-Montagnes.
